Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization Biclustering of Microarray Data


With the advent of the DNA microarray technology,it is now possible to study the transcriptional responseof a complete genome to different experimentalconditions. Biclustering is a very useful data miningtechnique for analysis of those gene expression data.During biclustering several objectives in conflict witheach other have to be optimized simultaneously, somulti-objective modeling is suitable for solvingbiclustering problem. This paper proposes a novelmulti-objective particle swarm optimizationbiclustering (MOPSOB) algorithm to mine coherentpatterns from microarray data. Experimental results onreal datasets show that our approach can effectivelyfind significant biclusters of high quality.
