The development of the programs in GEOM has spanned a major portion of the history of electronic computers, as a consequence of which it has been subject to many influences. Among the most recent have been the stimulus provided by the Comité Universitario del Eclipse (1991), headed by Dr. Apolonio Juarez Nuñez, but we should also not fail to mention the benefits of having the use of a NeXT computer, with its operating system and graphics capabilities, which was provided to the University by a research contract (#P228CCO X904651) with Mexico's CONACYT.
